parking fines on private land - scouserstewy

Is there a time limit for issuing a parking fine on private land. Received 1 today from july 2014 ( 8 months ago). It was camera operating syatem that was used. Personally I think its way too long, as this is the 1st thing I know about it.

There is the dreadfully written Act called the Protection of Freedoms Act 2012 (google it) that deals with these infringments on private land.

Read Schedule 4 for requirements in ticketing and in particular

Para 8
Sub Para 4 )The notice must be given by—

(a)handing it to the keeper, or leaving it at a current address for service for the keeper, within the relevant period; or

(b)sending it by post to a current address for service for the keeper so that it is delivered to that address within the relevant period.

(5)The relevant period for the purposes of sub-paragraph (4) is the period of 28 days following the period of 28 days beginning with the day after that on which the notice to driver was given.

which seems to suggest that if after 28days of vehicle being ticketed then within the next 28 days after this they can send notice to Reg keeper to pay, which in the case mentioned above has not been done.

A couple of weeks after becoming responsible for the private parking invoices industry Eric Pickles has launched a consultation. He has been given responsibility because there is obviously a problem with how these invoices are being dished out.

If you are unhappy about your data being released by DVLA to anyone who can fill out a form, if you have received an invoice, if you work in the legal world and have seen how POFA isn't working you have the opportunity to provide your thoughts.
