Has anybody got any comments as to the reliability of this model and to any snags that have occurred?

Has anybody got any comments as to the reliability of this model and to any snags that have occurred?

Local taxi drivers seem to like them - other popular models are Skodas/Mondeos.

So presumably reliable and economical enough for that type of use - mix of shortish urban trips and occasional 30 mile airport runs. Not heard drivers complain about them whenI've ridden in them.

the only complaint about them from taxi drivers is they are expensive to buy new compared to the big discounts on the Skodas

Make sure you really want the diesel, as the 1.8 Valvematic petrol with the M Drive auto is a gem with 40mpg easily attainable

That's not bad for a car the size of the avensis. I imagine they are using similar technology to Honda's 1.8 I-VTEC where people report 45mpg on a cruise and 35-40 around town
