VW Golf 2ltr cabriolet year 2000 (MK4 front end) - Headlights - golfauto11

My dipped headlights have suddenly stopped working. Everything else is fine, side lights, full beam and parking lights.Can anybody help?? Thanks.

Have you changed the bulbs? It is not that uncommon for 2 bulbs to be blown.

Many thanks for that!! No I haven't because I didn't think that two would go at once, but you feel that they can. Do you know if it is easy to replace them on a mk4 fronted car, or is it a garage job, ie the bumper needing to be removed??

Perhaps a failed relay? Usually one each for dip/main. Swap and see if the problem moves.

Headlight bulbs are not too dificult to change on these.You may need to move the battery on the passenger side access to lamp.Can't remember seeing any headlight relays on this model,but there is one for the foglights(if fitted)

Thanks, will check that out if the bulbs haven't both failed.
