Ford Fiesta zetec climate - Fiesta air con leak - cockneycooky
Hi,

I had the car re gassed a couple of months ago and has stopped working again so there must be a slight leak. Can hear the compressor clicking a lot which I beleive indicates low gas pressure.

Before I go to an air con specialist is anybody aware of any common problems or likely places the leak maybe so I can check myself.

Usually when A/C systems are re-gassed a dye which shows up under ultra-violet light is added. Leaks can be easily detected this way. Common leak areas are the condenser which can become damaged if struck by a stone flicked up from the road. Also a worn or failed 'O' ring on a pipe connection could be the cause. A specialist is probably your best course of action. In any case you'll need the system recharged again, and that's best left to someone who knows what he's doing.

As above,condensor is a favourite failure on these.Easy and fairly cheap to replace,but still around a £250 job.
