Audi TT - Audi TT Auto which is more reliable Mk1 or Mk2 - confused16

Thinking of buying an Audi TT V6 Auto, but puzzled by reviews, which indicate the earlier model might be more relaible.

Want to spend about £10,000 and use as a weekend car, just sold my 97 Mustang Cobra so not worried about fuel, but most of my cars do 150,000 miles with no real problems, probably cause their Fords

I suspect the Mk2 are more complex and therefore its reflected in the number of faults. Unlike your ford some thing are very expensive to fix. DSG gearbox has know issues accross VW/Audi range and all years with Jerky gear changes at low speeds.

My daughter has an Ibiza with a 7 spd dsg. Lovely drive,apart from transmission has developed an annoying noise. Main dealer has said to put up with it,basically,or fork out nearly £4k for a new box. Be vary wary,
