Golf gt diesel 2litre 2007 - Won't start after a holiday - Cyprus

When I leave my car for two weeks it just won't start. Battery is fine but it takes about five minutes before the car splutters into life. This has happened twice. All the time the car is driven regularly I have no problems. Any ideas?

Air leak in the fuel supply system allowing fuel to slowly drain away over time.

Likely to be around fuel filter.

When car is in use, not enough time for air intake to be large enough to cause a problem.

Seconded.

Is there a rubber priming bulb? If there is, give it a few squeezes to bring the fuel up to the filter. If there isn't a priming bulb - fit one! It makes faulting fuel problems so much easier, and indispensible when changing a fuel filter.
