Renault Scenic - over 2 months for repair.. what are my rights? - kitikat13

Hi all

need some advice..

I took my car into the mechanic on the 1st may and since then have heard nothing from him.. Hes not returned my calls or text messages to find out whats going on.

I have been as polite as possible and just want my car back ( I need it next week otherwise we cant go on our holiday and my daughter will be gutted)

My family have also been on his case and apparently hes told my dad and my bf that it will be done but not given any time scale

Hes also said its been delyaed because hes been moving house.

Its becoming desperate now and I really dont know what to do..

Any help/advice would be great

hes a sole trader btw not a garage

You haven't told us why it's been dropped off there, which is a useful piece of information. It might have been in for a basic service, or a full engine rebuild.

Basically though, pretty much all you can insist on is getting your car back in the state it was when dropped off there.

Have you not been down to his garage?

What kind of garage is it? One man back street railway arches job or something a little more professional?

She's covered this in the last line of her post.

It does sound rather dodgy, maybe he's dented or bumped it and is trying to put it right?

Please come back and tell us what happened.

Then find a trusted independent garage or Renault specialist for the future.
