bmw 316i touring - no fuel prime - pscott78

hi driving home from work and got 2short bursts of fuel starve then fine for the rest of the journey .the next day turn over but no start,called rac and crank sensor code2781 came up,replaced the sensor still no start so changed the fuel pump as i notied no fuel pump noise and still wont start any help much appreciated also checked fuel pump relay and fuse

thanks for your prompt reply its a bmw 316i touring (e46) 2004 with n46 engine petrol if that's any more help thanks again

I think you need to establish if there is any voltage to the fuel pump unit under back seat when engine cranking.Power and earth supply will be the 2 fatter wires.

hi all just had auto spark out and tested the fuelpump,plugs,all relays ,fuses and said its either ecu or timings out due to chain jump could this be the case?

Timing chain problem is more likely on this engine.
