Do I have to take any special precautions when changing the battery - so as to preserve immobiliser and or radio?

You do not need a radio code for PSA cars and the alarm/immboliser will not be affected.

The only special measure I'd suggest is to carry out a BSI reset after replacing the battery. It doesn't usually lose it's settings, but it can in some cases.

Yes.When you reconnect the battery,turn on the ignition for 5 mins before attempting to start the car.This will allow the various communication networks to re-initialize.hth
