Saab 900 convertible 1993 - ABS light sometimes on sometimes off - Fiona2

Sometimes the ABS light comes on and stays on, sometimes it comes after I've been drving for a bit, sometimes it comes on and then goes off the next time i start up. Once i had a stiff brake pedal and other times the car inches forwards when I break. But mostly it brakes OK. Just a little unnerving!

This could be a faulty wheel speed sensor.This car may just be new enough to be fitted with a dignostic system for the abs system.This may give an indication of the problem area.

..or it could be a poor connection on one of the sensor lead plugs.
