mazda 6 diesel 143 - power problems - ournath

hi all i have just bought a 2006 mazda 6 diesel at auction and on the way home found that i have a lack of power

car sounds great no leaks no smoke etc

problem is i get to about 3000 rpm and dont seem to have any more power as if the turbo isnt boosting

does anyone know what is causing this

Could be a number of things. Start with the relatively easy stuff you can check yourself -- check the air filter isn't clogged.

Then move onto things that will probably need a mechanic with diagnostic gear, like the diesel fuel filter (when was it last changed?) and MAF sensor (is it dying or faulty?).

thanks for the reply havent checked filter but have plugged in code reader and saying 2 faults but when try to find out what they are it comes up N/A

seems to rev fine when not under load but soon as moving struggles i have squeased the pipe from turbo and getting some boost but not alot and none when driving it seems

checked filter it is dirty would it make that much difference?
