SAAB 9-3 Sportwagon - Saab 1.9 tid turbo problem??? - elmo9090

Hi,

Please help, I have just bought a '06 SAAB 9-3 did 150, awesome yeah? NAH!

After 2 days of driving the turbo seems to have stopped blowing, no acceleration, no turbo noise???
Could it be a hose? the MAF? or something else? Or is it terminal turbo unit?

Please help,

Feeling a bit ripped off right now!!!

Unless you are getting a lot of blue smoke from the exhaust its unlikely that the turbo has failed, if you disconnect one of the hoses you can check if the rotor is turning OK. Its quite likely the the turbo control system has failed, check around it for split or leaking small rubber pipes.

If you bought it private then you are in for a very expensive time its basically a Vectra/Fiat engine so I would check on their forums .

Presumably all seemed well when you test drove it?

Unless it was a private purchase, take it back to the dealer tomorrow.

I had this issue and it was the maf. Was intermittent depending on temperature.
Try disconnecting the maf and see if symptoms change
