SAAB Reviews
New Cars
Good: More of the same, modernised with sharper looks. Quick 2.8 twin-turbo.
Bad: Has lost the doctor/banker/solicitor image Saabs once had.
Good: Vastly better to drive than the previous version. Superb seats. Excellent crash test rating. A lot of convertible for your money.
Bad: A 3 Series convertible offers a sharper drive. Oil change is recommended every 5k miles on 4-cylinder Saab petrol engines. Starting to feel baggy by 2009.
Good: Comfortable, solidly built estate with an excellent ride, predictable handling, superb seats and plenty of kit.
Bad: Saab 4-cylinder engines should have an oil change every 5k miles. Diesel 1.9 can throw its timing belt after just 40k miles.
Good: Saab's alternative to the Volvo XC70, good ride quality, usefully large boot space.
Bad: Four-wheel drive only available with thirsty petrol engine, diesel only front-wheel drive.
Good: Good looking crossover based on the Cadillac SRX, promises to be very safe, uses 9-5 components.
Bad: Not supposed to go on sale until later in 2011, no diesel engine in the line-up, future of SAAB in the air.
Good: Distinctive design, comfortable cabin, impressive rear passenger room and large boot, fuel efficient 2.0 TiD engine, precise steering, well equipped as standard.
Bad: Firm ride, notchy manual gearbox, interior doesn't feel as upmarket as it should given the price.
Good: To have a wide choice of engines including impressive TTiD diesel with 190bhp.
Bad: Future of SAAB in doubt
