I need an estate car or tourer - should I pick the Mazda 6 or Citroen C5?

I am self-employed covering 30,000 miles per year, and need an estate car or tourer. I have had an Audi A4 and MG ZT as my last two cars, and am looking at the Mazda 6 2.2 TS and Citroen C5 VTR+Nav. Which is the better and cheaper to run, or is there a better alternative? I notice that the C5 service interval is 20,000 miles and the Mazda is 12,500 miles. This makes a difference?

12,500-mile service intervals on a car driven 30,000 miles a year will ensure the engine remains in peak condition. By 20,000 miles, even clocked up as quickly as you do, there will still be some oil contamination by the time the oil is changed.

The Mazda is chain cam while the Citroen is belt cam, but the Citroen should give better ride quality. For this sort of mileage avoid big wheels with low profile tyres or you might be having to replace the tyres every four or five months.
