Is £12,000 a good price for a new Ford Fiesta with a part-exchange for our old Puma?

We are looking at a 1.4 Fiesta Titanium in Sea Grey. The dealer is offering it at £12,000 plus our Y-reg Puma valued at £1200. I'd like reversing sensors and mud flaps included but the dealer won't budge. Would I do better to buy online and sell the Puma (40,000 miles) privately? How hard is it to sell an older car?

That is a hell of a price for what is, after all, just a Fiesta. I'd take a look at a Mazda 2 1.3TS2 instead. In my view they are more fun to drive, more economical and they have chain cam engines. There is still some enthusiasm for the Puma as long as it isn't rusting in the rear arches. Might be worth putting through www.sure-sell.info, or see what www.webuyanycar.com will offer for it.
