Why does my Audi A4 have poor fuel economy following the emissions upgrade?

Has anybody else had a reduction in their fuel economy following the recent emissions upgrade? The range on my Audi A4 has gone from 620 to 570 miles per tank. Audi say it's nothing to do with the upgrade, yet nothing else has changed.

Yes. This isn't supposed to happen but it does because reducing NOx creates more soot and the DPF needs more diesel fuel to burn off the extra soot.
