Why is my Vauxhall Calibra's brake warning light illuminating?

My 1992 Vauxhall Calibra has the brake system light and the alternator light coming on, and the worn pads light as well. The brake light and alternator light started intermittently and dimly, and now they're brighter and seem more prominent with the pedal down. The brakes are working fine.

It sounds as though you may have a earth problem in the electrical circuit. Over and above that, though, I would suggest that you check (or get checked) your brake pads for wear, just in case.
