My Vauxhall requires an ABS fault repair but the warranty ran out whilst I was waiting to be booked in.
The sensor light for my ABS in my car has been coming off and on for the last few weeks. I took it to a local garage and they told me to take it to the Vauxhall Garage 40 miles away to get it replaced under warranty. My car’s warranty is three years and 60,000 miles. By the time they could fit me in, the mileage was 60,384 and now they are saying it is out of warranty and they want to charge me £318 to fix it. I feel hard done by as the fault happened before the warranty ran out and I can get that confirmed in writing from my garage. Do you have to have your car serviced by a Vauxhall dealer to maintain the warranty?

Read the terms of your warranty. It may only be one or two-year manufacturer warranty followed by a more restrictive one or two-year dealer warranty. But £318 is cheap for repair of this fault. VAG dealers can charge £1500 - £2000 to replace the whole module. This garage appears to be using the ECU Testing £300 repair.
