Does Proton still exist in this country?

My elderly great aunt has had the same Proton 1.3 GE since 1991. It has been faultlessly reliable but, as she is now 89 years of age, she would like an automatic car with power steering and still simple enough for her to get to grips with. She asked if I could look into new Protons but I can't seem to get a hold of Proton UK. We don't have any local proton dealers up in the north of Scotland anymore, but is there even any left anywhere UK. What has happened to Proton?

No. Seems to have packed up in the UK. Official website not reachable. No Malaysian manufacturers at all. You could find a 2nd hand Proton for her. The models are listed here: www.honestjohn.co.uk/carbycar/proton/ Used Proton GEN 2s for sale here: www.honestjohn.co.uk/used-prices/Proton/GEN-2/
