The air conditioning in my Honda FR-V needs an expensive repair - how do I get a goodwill contribution?

A holed condenser caused gas loss in my Honda FR-V in late May. It was replaced in early June (£475) but operating pressure was too high (24 atm and rising, normal 10-14). Communications between my local Honda dealer and head office are slow, plus holidays make very slow progress. Head office suggested to check a valve next for debris behind the dash. Valve ok (bill £200). Head office said check the system is clear; it is. Head office said it's probably the compressor (£1000+). I feel that a faulty 3.5-year-old compressor probably caused the condenser to fail and the repair cost is in excess of £1700. Honda might help with parts only. Advice?

It does sound a tale of woe. Am i correct in assuming that all work has been done by a Honda dealer? If so I would now go direct to Honda UK, (telephone 0845 200 8000 or use their feedback form online). You need to be very clear and concise as to what has happened to date, what advice you have been given (by them) and what you expect from them now. Also mention that your car is only 3.5 years old (sympathetic warranty). You may have to be very strong in your negotiations with them to achieve a satisfactory result. PS: keep all records of telephone calls/emails.
