Has the Emission Scandal affected the value of my Tiguan?

What is going on with Volkswagen? We've had yet another (fourth) letter saying the technical fix for our Tiguan still isn't ready - although I know they're recalling Passats which I'm sure have the same engine.

My question is will the part-ex value be affected by the impending recall, or should I wait until it's done? As I'm now slightly put off diesel models would you agree that the Mazda CX-5 looks the best spec for a petrol equivalent?

What is going on is that the fix for Tiguan 2.0TDI 150s hasn't always been working. I've had 14 complaints. The problem seems to be specific to Tiguans and also to the 1.2TDI in everything fitted with it. I've had reports of one success story with the Tiguan TDI 150 and very few complaints after the fix to anything else apart from 1.2TDIs.

Yes, p/x values will inevitably be affected. Yes, there is a legal outfit pursuing a class action (Google 'VAG EA189 Recall Class Action'). CX-5 petrol good. Also Suzuki Vitara S 1.4T Boosterjet and forthcoming Peugeot 3008 1.2 PureTech 130 (you won't believe it's a 1.2).
