Which diesel engine is best for the Volkswagen Touran?

We are looking to buying a used automatic Volkswagen Touran, with an automatic DSG gearbox. We have the choice of a 2012 1.6 TDI with 23k on the clock for £12k or a 2013 2.0 TDI with 35k on the clock for £13k. Both are sold with a 12 month Volkswagen warranty. Which do you think is a better long term buy?

Avoid the EA189 1.6TDI DSG like the plague. Problems with the DSG and due to be recalled at some time for a complex EA189 emissions fix. 2.0TDI much better. Wet clutch six-speed DSG requires fresh fluid and filter every three years, but much stronger and more reliable. EA189 2.0TDIs should already have gone in for a simple emissions fix.
