Best large estate for £15,000?

We're looking to buy a large estate car for £15,000. Requirements are comfort and interior space. It must also be well-equipped and petrol engined. We want to keep it for five years plus and cover 100k miles or more.

The shortlist so far includes the Mercedes-Benz E350 Estate, BMW 528 Touring, Volvo V70, Ford Mondeo Estate or S-Max. I also thought about a nearly new Peugeot 308 or 508 SW but these all seem to be diesel and I'm not sure about comfort. What do you think of our choices? Any other suggestions?

That '350' 3.0 Mercedes V6 had a few problems. For long life you want a 3.0 litre straight six BMW engine not a 2.0 litre four cylinder. Don't hear anything of the i6 engine in Volvos or Freelander IIs. Mondeo and S-Max 2.0 Ecoboosts generally fitted with wet clutch Powershifts that require regular maintenance. Peugeot 308 1.2 Puretech 130 is brilliant but no idea how long it will last.
