Should I swap the tyres around on my car?

I have a 2010 Mini Cooper and recently had the tracking checked. I was told there was feathering on the inside edges of both front tyres with 3, 4 and 5mm of tread across the tyres. The rear tyres have a good tread depth and would appreciate your opinion on swapping front wheels/tyres round. I have had conflicting reports and the car is due its MOT in September.

That's quite common on this model of MINI and, as long as the tread is not directional, it's common to swap the tyres around on the rims.
