Is Vauxhall likely to help repair an ESP fault on my Vauxhall Meriva?

I have a 56-plate Vauxhall Meriva that has done only 25,500 miles and has developed an ESP fault. After trawling through the net I get the idea that Vauxhall are aware of this problem but won't admit it. Just wondered if you had any advice, as I get the impression that Vauxhall will not amend this fault free of charge?

Common problem. Vauxhall says it is caused by drivers repeatedly holding the cars on lock and this has the effect of burning out the electric power steering motor.
