Will the Jeep Patriot be made available with a diesel engine and automatic gearbox?

I have owned a Jeep Patriot LTD diesel for three years now and have been very pleased with the car. Due to health problems I need an automatic. I would like to stay with Jeep and wonder if you have heard of any new engines and gearboxes coming along in the near future for this model?

The Jeep Patriot is due to be facelifted very soon and we'll be driving it in August, but as far as we know, the current engine and gearbox options won't change, so we doubt there will be a diesel/auto combination. The larger Jeep Cherokee does come with a diesel auto (a 2.8 CRD) but if this is too large you may have to look at another make and model. You might like to consider a Skoda Yeti which is a similar 4x4/hatchback crossover (albeit slightly smaller) which comes with a 2.0 TDI and the excellent DSG automatic gearbox.
