AdBlue in a BMW X5

My BMW X5 is equiped with an AdBlue tank. I have only done 5000 miles in three months and the indication message has come on to refill the AdBlue tank. This seems like a very high usage ? Can you refill using commercial vehicle facilities at garages in the UK?

You can get AdBlue from filling stations for £15.99 for 10 litres. Just fill it up via the AdBlue filler under the fuel flap. 5000 miles is pretty much average use for a car of this size. The system is different from the old Eolys system used on Peugeot and Citroen where the reservoir of Eolys could last 60,000 miles because the cars only has to meet EU4. For EU6 the urea solution has to regularly be squirted into the DPF via something called Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR). For explanation: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Selective_catalytic_reduction
