Hard to get full throttle?

Is there a fault with my car? I find I have to almost push my foot through the floor to get full throttle and it makes the car very tiring to drive. If I do 30 miles on mixed dual carriageways with loads of roundabouts my foot actually hurts after pressing the pedal so hard. At half throttle it feels as though there is an extra set of springs that I have to press through to get the throttle open more.

I've asked two Honda garages if they can adjust the throttle cable or where full throttle occurs but they will not help, just offered to look at it for £40. Is there something wrong with the electronics that can be fixed or a part replaced (throttle sensor)?

This should not be happening. You should not even need full throttle. But on a modern car the accelerator pedal works a switch that sends an electrical signal through a cable to a switch at the throttle body. I'd guess that the accelerator switch is malfunctioning and probably needs replacing.

I've just bought a Renault Megane 1.6 petrol. When I start the engine, it starts but loses power at first. It needs a bit of accelerating to keep the engine running. I have changed the spark plugs already,...
The accelerator was no longer responding on our Espace and it was still picking up speed. I switched the engine off and then on again, and the car started revving itself.
Car starts, but no acceleration, pedal seems okay, but no response/revs when applying the accelerator pedal, stuck doing 1 mph.
