Which cars come with a spare wheel?

I am doing some research for a new car sometime next year.

At the moment I own a Hyundai i30 Style which I am reasonably pleased with, it’s a 1.4 petrol, I would have liked a 1.6 but the petrol model only came in the higher spec model. So I like the new facelift i30 except they have dropped my spec car you can only get a lower or higher spec so that’s ruled that one out.

Basic things I want are petrol, manual, 1.4/1.6 and most important a spare wheel (spacesaver will do).

Quite liked the Focus Titanium Ecoboost, you can get a space saver with that, until I keep reading problems with these engines and clutches with the Focus. So I looked at the Mazda 3, no sort of spare wheel, Honda Civic again no spare wheel.

Now how annoying is this, go to Honda’s and Mazda’s web site in Australia and they both get a ‘temporary’ spare wheel, take it that means a space saver. Why are these car makers not giving us the option to purchase a spare but in other countries they are?

Mazda really should get it together to offer aftermarket space saver spare wheel and jack kits in the UK, but there seems to be a reluctance. I had personal experience of its useless tyre repair kit that cost me 5 hours, £256 for a replacement tyre that had been ruined by the repair foam and (potentially) an £80 fine for being stuck at Wetherby services for more than the permitted 2 hours. Honda too.

There's a full size spare in the Honda Jazz Mk II 1.5iVTEC 5-speed auto I'm currently driving in Thailand. Ford offers space savers for all its cars for £95. Skoda has said it will not offer space savers with the new Superb, but will probably bow to public pressure. VW offers optional or standard spares with most models. Peugeot fits space saver spares as standard unless the wheel well is filled with an AddBlue tank.
