Buying a car for holidaying in Spain?

In view of increasing car hire and insurance issues, I am thinking about buying a car for my use when holidaying in Spain 6 times a year. I am considering buying a new Dacia as second hand cars appear to be very expensive. The reason for a new car is also one of reliability; it will be left on a long term airport for 2 or more months at a time. What are the pitfalls of this from a tyres and battery perspective? Is this something you would recommend and if so what steps should I take to ensure I try to mitigate potential problems as much as I can. Also, is there anything else that you would urge caution or car about with thus approach.

Unless you have a property in Spain to register and insure the car to you can't do this anyway. Leaving a car sitting for 2 months at a time will lead to tyre flatspotting, tyre UV damage and battery failure. Not a good idea.
