Softer quieter tyres - what would you recommend?

For winter tyres on my 2010 Audi A3 1.8 Tfsi Sportback I use 16” rims with 205/55 Continental Wintercontact TS830’s. In summer I switch back to the original 17” rims with Pirelli P Zero Rosso 225/45 tyres which need replacing. I could stay with 16” rims all year buy don’t fancy having to keep changing tyres on the same rims. Can you recommend a good quality tyre for the 17” rims which would give a softer quieter ride than the P Zero’s or would it be better to stay with 16" rims all year? If so what summer tyres would you then recommend? Wear is not a big issue as mileage is modest. I have on your recommendation been using Event Tyres for over 5 years for tyre replacements, repairs and seasonal rim swaps for our 2 cars; I have found them excellent in all respects.

A new Michelin tyre called CrossClimate has just been announced and this may well be the answer for year round use. Testing on Wednesday 4th March.
