I'd like to buy my friend's Fiat Doblo 1.9 diesel, but should I expect DPF problems?

I'm thinking of getting rid of my faithful SEAT Arosa 1.0 and buying my friend's Fiat Doblo 1.9 diesel, on a 53 plate with 94,000 miles. My driving is mainly in town and with some long motorway journeys. I've heard that there is a problem with with the Doblo's DPF filter if it's driven around at low revs for a prolonged period of time, e.g, driving around town. If this problem does arise, is it an expensive fix?

Yes, there is a problem with most diesel DPFs subjected to short runs from cold starts and slow traffic city use.
