Motability Ford C-Max - can you recommend a replacement?

My wife's Motability Ford C-Max auto diesel is shortly due for replacement. We would prefer to switch to a petrol version but Ford do not seem to provide a petrol variant. Can you suggest a similar reliable replacement by another maker please?

The obvious one is the Toyota Verso 1.8i Valvematic Multidrive S. This is the test of the original, but the current facelift model has the same engine and transmission: www.honestjohn.co.uk/road-tests/toyota/toyota-vers.../
