Is my ix20 too sluggish?

My ix20 1.6 automatic was recently in for paintwork repair. I had found it sluggish at times in general - it is 6 months old. I hadn't driven automatics before so just thought 'oh well. '

I had a Corsa 1.4 auto whilst mine was in the body shop. What a difference! It's a smaller engine but it moved! There weren't any slight delays nor was I aware of it changing up through the gears.

I just wondered if my ix20 has a problem or us it fair enough that different makes can be like that?

One other question, I had an ix20 manual prior to my auto and even though I have the seat in the auto at same distances from dash, steering wheel, roof etc (I have a neck issue so needed to get it right) the pedals seem totally at different distances. Obviously there is no clutch, but in general wouldn't they be the same?

As far as I am aware the ix20 hasn't been altered in any way from 2011 to 2014?

The brake pedal of the auto will be wider, but that should be the only difference. The auto itself is the old 1.4 torque converter box and I haven't driven it either in the ix20 or the identical KIA Venga: www.honestjohn.co.uk/road-tests/kia/kia-venga-2010...o

It should not be excessively sluggish.
