Which large family estate car should I buy?

I'm looking for a spacious diesel estate car. I need lots of rear leg room and space in the boot. I do about 25,000 miles year, so need a diesel. I also want a car that will cover 0-60mph in less than 10 seconds. I have a budget of around £6000 and looking at something less than 6 years old.

I was thinking of the Mazda 6, Toyota Avensis or a Ford Mondeo. I'm concerned over the Mondeo as every Ford I've ever owned had bits of interior falling off. Which car would you buy?

Not a Mazda 6 this age due to DPF problems impacting on engines. Avensis 2.2 diesel so-so. Mondeo better. Could also consider a Skoda Superb, and a SEAT Exeo ST.

I'm considering buying a used saloon-shaped hatchback. I quite like the Audi A5 Sportback, BMW 4 Series Grand Coupe, Ford Mondeo and Skoda Superb. Is there anything else I should be considering?

Limousine-like amounts of rear legroom. Clever dual tailgate means it's both a hatch and a saloon. GreenLine model is very economical. A lot of car for the money.
Hugely practical and robust, refined and quiet on the move, excellent diesel engines, especially the 2.0 D-4D, very reliable.
Handsome station wagon of Exeo saloon, surprisingly good to drive and ride in. Looks better than saloon. Multitronic auto from 2011.
