Steering pipe failure on recently bought car - can we claim against the dealer?

My mother recently purchased a 2002 Toyota Corola Verso for £2490 due to it only having done 47,000 miles. The car is spotless and drives beautifully but as soon as we got it back we noticed a leak underneath- diagnosed as the power steering pipe leaking. The total bill will be £260, do we have a case against the dealer?

Yes. Law here: www.honestjohn.co.uk/faq/consumer-rights/ Though the car was cheap you bought it as a retail purchase from a dealer so it has to be "satisfactory quality" and he has to fix the fault or give you your money back.
