Does the Land Rover Freelander 2 suffer from DPF problems?

My father is about to change his Land Rover Freelander 2 for a new car and has offered me his old car. I am very tempted by this kind offer as it will give me a bigger and more versatile vehicle for my family.
However I only drive eight miles to work and am worried that my 12 minute commute will result in DPF problems. What do you think?

It could become an issue and DPFs are not everlasting anyway. After 80,000 miles or so they require cleaning by the Ceramex or Terraclen process or replacing and replacements run at about £1000.
