Why don't you recommend the Skoda Roomster?

I shall have to change my 10-year-old KIA Carens in the not too distant future and am looking for something of similar shape and roomy boot, but smaller. I love the look of the Skoda Roomster (petrol, as my annual mileage is low), but you never seem to recommend it - actually suggesting to RH of Hayling Island that his daughter look at something else. Are there any particular problems with the Skoda Roomster that I should be aware of?

The Roomster 1.2TSI is okay. Certainly a lot better than a Fabia. Not much has gone wrong with them: www.honestjohn.co.uk/carbycar/skoda/roomster-2006/...d. But it's quite an old model now, and quite a lot smaller than a Citroen Berlingo/Peugeot Partner. Better than a Citroen Nemo, Peugeot Bipper, FIAT Qubo, though.
