Is it sensible to buy a new Honda CR-V imported from Cyprus?

I have seen that Motorpoint has delivery mileage Honda CR-V autos for £19,999. It appears that these are imported from Cyprus and only come with a 2-year European Warranty. It looks like a good deal, but I am curious whether there would be any drawbacks, such as different spec, or problems with warranty or servicing in the UK?

I checked into this for another reader and compared prices with Bob Gerard who also imports CR-Vs from Cyprus. Motorpoint's are much cheaper. But, while probably built in Swindon, they are not 'UK cars', so while they are bargains, their non-UK status will always be reflected in their values. They might be Irish spec (RHD, but speedo in kilometres). It boils down to do you want to save £6000 on a car you will keep for a long time, or a lesser amount buying a UK spec car via www.drivethedeal.com ? No problem registering, taxing or servicing cars from Motorpoint and Honda UK has to conform to the 2-year European warranty.
