Which winter tyres are best for a Volvo V50?

I’m thinking about fitting winter tyres to my Volvo V50. We live in a rural part of southern England and want to get a good set of tyres to replace the current Pirelli 205/50 R17s. What do you recommend?

All weather Goodyear Vector 4 Seasons probably make the most sense because you're not that likely to get much extreme weather in southern England.
