Should I have whatever's causing wind noise from my MINI Cooper fixed before the warranty runs out?

Wind noise (can't be 100 per cent sure - but it sounds like someone blowing over the top of milk bottle) is coming from the underside of my 57-plate MINI Cooper auto, 13,500 miles, once I get above 60mph. The MINI service centre drove and inspected the car, but could find nothing wrong and advised me to come back if or when it got worse. The noise persists, and whilst not at all deafening, it can be heard above the normal stereo volume. The car is under manufacturer's warranty until Sept 2010. What are Mini's obligations with regard to an existing fault beyond the 3-year warranty or what should they be doing now? My preference would be to have the fault fixed rather than a replacement car or compensation.

Your best bet is to try and get it solved before the warranty runs out. Anything after that will be on a goodwill basis. Have you tried getting a second opinion from another MINI dealer? It could be that a fresh pair of eyes does the trick.

With all windows closed wind noise is continuous starting at around 25 mph. Is it possible to reduce the wind noise or is this inherent with all CR-V? Please advise.
