Turbo boosted petrol engines - are they any good on the motorway?

The 1.0-litre 'Ecoboost' petrol engine in the Ford C-MAX is amazingly swift and responsive, can such an arrangement really deliver long-term on A-roads and motorways?

I have never owned a turbo-boosted car before so I'd be interested in your advice on how to drive to ensure its maintenance and health long-term. Do you have a view on this engine and how it might compare with the C-MAX standard 1.6 petrol version?

The engine is far better to drive than the old 1.6. However, in real life, though it's more economical than the 1.6, it gets nowhere near the economy it has shown in the EC lab tests.

Obviously after a long ascent or long motorway run it needs to be idled for a minute or so before switching off, and I would not tow with it. But we won't know about longevity until it has been proven for a few more years.
