Fiesta or BMW 1 Series?

My sister is looking to buy her next car. She has always wanted a BMW 116 auto but I'm suggesting she considers a Ford Fiesta Titanium auto based on cost, age and standard kits. Which is a better buy for automatic box at £7000 with a max age of five years?

£7000 would probably buy a Fiesta 1.4 4-speed automatic. But I think that a Mazda 2 1.5 Activmatic is a better car: www.honestjohn.co.uk/road-tests/mazda/mazda-2-15-a.../
