Vectra C blower resistor

Last year the blower resistor went on my Vauxhall Vectra C. I bought another one, but two weeks ago it went again. I've since replaced it, but there's now a burning smell and the glovebox is extremely hot. Any idea what the fault could be?

Obviously there is a fault that is overheating all of these resistors, and it has to be with the motor itself.

Far better than previous Vectra. Now with decent handling and an excellent ride. Plenty of safety kit. Roomy in the front. Big boot. Good looks.
