Can I fit smaller wheels to my Skoda Fabia vRS?

My Skoda Fabia vRS is fitted with 16" alloys and low profile 205/45 tyres. Can I fit smaller diameter wheels with higher profile tyres? If so, which size?

Yes. But I would not go below 15" wheels on this car, which will probably be fitted with 185/55 R15 tyres (as on my Fiat). The equivalent 14" tyres size would be 175/65 R14, but that might cause problems with the weight of the vRS 1.9 diesel engine and its torque output.
