Tyre tread cracking - any legal rights?

I have a two-year-old Nissan Note with around 8500 miles on the clock. I've noticed that all four tyres have developed cracks within the treads running the circumference of the tyre.

Nissan and the dealer have said they won't do anything but it seems like a manufacturing fault. Do you know if there are any legal grounds for a complaint?

Very common on Dunlop tyres on Notes and Jazz. Send the supplying dealer principal a letter by post office special delivery stating that you are worried that you might suffer a blowout as a result and that if you do you will hold him liable. (This is not actually likely because huge numbers of Notes and Jazz have the problem, but I have never heard of any blowouts.)
