Will BMW contribute to repairing a torque converter failure on my 3 Series?

I have a four-year-old BMW 3 Series automatic on which the torque converter of the gearbox has failed and therefore I'm told that a new gearbox is required. For this to happen after four years seems a bit premature. Do you think that BMW would contribute to the replacement cost?

BMW might, but only if you have the job done at a BMW dealership that might still cost you more than having the work done by an independent. Check with www.fedauto.co.uk and www.kingautomatics.co.uk.
