What should I replace my Scirocco company car with?

I would like to replace my company Volkswagen Scirocco DSG with an Audi A3 Quattro. Unfortunately the new A3 won’t be out until next Autumn and I need to order a new car quickly. Are there any alternatives in the same price range? I am looking for a fairly nippy car with decent road holding, which will comfortably handle country roads, motorways and a high mileage.

Initially I'd recommend the Audi A4 1.8 Quattro or the Skoda Yeti 1.8 160PS AWD, but if it's not going to be your car then there's no reason not to go for a diesel. It will be more economical for the three years you have it and the breakdowns don't usually start until after then. How about a Subaru Impreza 2.0 diesel?
