We want to sell our 2007 Focus and 2005 Mondeo and buy a Kuga - what's the best way of doing this?

We both recently retired and no longer need our two cars. We are considering buying a 28,000 mile 2008 Ford Kuga 2.0 Zetec TDCI, as 4WD would be useful, from a Ford main dealer in Gainsborough, advertised at £14,841. We are thinking of selling our 2007 Ford Focus 1.6 Ghia automatic (26,000 miles) and 2005 Ford Mondeo 2.00 Ghia TDCI (70,000 miles) privately as we don’t need to trade them in to buy the Kuga. Please advise if the Kuga price is reasonable or should I haggle for a discount of say £1000 as a cash buyer? Is a non-trade in and selling privately a good plan? Are there any good free websites for my existing car values?

I just saw a higher mileage 2005 Kuga sell for £13,050 at auction today, so with normal dealer margin that's a fair price. www.honestjohn.co.uk/news/auctions/2012-02/bca-bbs.../

You might get stuck with the cars for months trying to sell privately, and spend a fortune on advertising. Better to trade one in against the Kuga and sell the other using www.sure-sell.info. You can value your cars here for nothing: www.honestjohn.co.uk/used-prices/
