Breakdown recovery damaged our driveway - what should we do?
A large transporter belonging to the AA parked in our drive, extending a hydraulic ramp to load a neighbour’s car. After they had left we noticed damage to our drive. The combined weight of the vehicles had not only cracked the tarmac but also left a large indentation. We have sent pictures to prove our point and even though the AA has acknowledged being here they have refused to compensate us for the repairs. Their claims department put it down to wear and tear and suggested we claim through our household insurance. The fact of the matter is the AA transporter damaged our drive, so therefore it is not down to our insurers. Any advice?

Get three quotes for repairing the damage. Send copies of them to the AA and state that if they do not pay up you will take the matter to the small claims track of the county court. They will pay.
